ECM-98T & ECM-9800 Electronic Coin Mechanism

Uses Less Power

The ECM Electronic Coin Mechanisms use less power than any other Electronic Coin Mechanism on the market. Our power source is a Six Volt Duracell Lithium Battery. We have used this same battery type since we first determined, back in 1991, that LITHIUM is the ONLY battery that meets the harsh requirements of Newspaper Racks. The battery is rated to operate from -40 to 140 degrees f. Battery has a shelf life of 10 + years and has proven to be extremely reliable.

Because of this proven reliability plus the low power usage of the ECM Electronics, we can give you a FIVE YEAR NON-PRORATED WARRANTY while other manufactures can offer only prorated warranties even though using much larger capacity batteries than ours.

One of the major causes of premature battery failure is POWER LEAKAGE due to moisture making contact with unprotected areas of the electronics. For that reason we USE NO CONNECTORS where moisture can cause such leakage. In addition we use a Conformal coating that meets Military Specifications to protects all components from moisture contact.

Temperature variations (Hot and Cold) are the two main reasons why it is virtually impossible to predict accurate battery life. However, if you have a news rack in a temperature controlled indoor location, an ECM selling 10 papers per day would operate over 10 years and vend over 120,000 papers, based on computed life using the low ECM power requirements.

If you enjoy technical information, we will gladly provide you with a whole lot more information on battery life as it pertains to Electronic Coin Mechanisms.
