Increased Coin Collection area
Another common complaint about the Mechanical Totalizer is the lack of space beneath the coin mechanism allowed for coin collection tray. Because of the limited height of coin collection tray, coins will frequently fall underneath the Mechanical Totalizer where they are hard to retrieve.
The ECM-98T has the escrow compartment located much higher than the Mechanical Totalizer so that a higher sided coin collection box can be used. In addition the ECM-98T escrow compartment doors drop the coins into the collection box further towards the back of the head and thereby eliminates the tendency for coins to get underneath the coin mechanism frame.
