ECM-98T Electronic Coin Mechanism
Improved Door Latch Design
One of the major complaints heard about the Mechanical Totalizer is that the Hardened Door Latch will break or bend if the door is pulled too hard. When bending, the door latch can jam into door tongue opening so badly that it has to be cut off with a torch before the Mechanical Totalizer can be removed from the rack.
With the ECM-98T we designed our door latch to move in both a rotary and linear direction. If force is applied to door handle before the latch is released, the force of the pull motion causes door latch to move linearly until it encounters the sheet metal frame. Further force (thousands of pounds) will not cause the door latch to jam into the door tongue opening.
The ECM-98T has been in use for over two years and we have yet to get any unit damaged in this way.
