Fully Interchangeable with Mechanical
Totalizer
The ECM-98T has been designed to be FULLY INTERCHANGEABLE WITH THE MECHANICAL TOTALIZER. The ECM-98T utilizes the same Door Tongue and Coin Return Button as the Mechanical Totalizer. The two main reasons for this compatibility are as follows:
- It makes the conversion from the old Mechanical Totalizers to the new ECM-98T a quick and simple process. A route can be converted on a gradual basis as time permits. The person filling the racks can easily tell the ECM-98T from the Mechanical Totalizer by the fact that the ECM-98T has a LED indicator in place of the Key Lock.
- The RIGID DOOR TONGUE IS SUPERIOR TO A PIVOTAL TYPE. Our earlier Mechanical Totalizer replacement version (The ECM-92T) utilized a spring biased pivotal door tongue so that it was self adjusting in regards to the coin mechanism. However, what we learned over time was that this door tongue design is much more likely to be bent or deformed so that paper door will not close. This requires frequent door tongue replacement and/or manual re-alignment.
To simplify installation/removal of the ECM-98T we made the four FRONT MOUNTING HOLES slightly larger so as to not be affected by slightly bent or rusted MOUNTING PINS. We also designed the SLIDE LOCK member to be released by using a screw driver instead of having to pull upwards using just a finger. Also, removing an ECM-98T from a rack is simplified due to OUR DOOR RELEASE activator located on the back side of the mechanism. See INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS for more information.
